At SIS Pitches, we have spent the last 20 years supplying and installing high-quality natural turf pitches trusted by grassroots and elite clubs worldwide.

We provide a full natural pitch construction or reconstruction project. A single source for the entire process of installing any natural grass sports surface. From removal of your old pitch through to matchday and ongoing maintenance.

WASTE WATER MANAGEMENT

The area is laser graded to a pitch profile that helps rainwater drain away efficiently (envelope profile shown).  Drainage trenches are excavated and a geotextile membrane laid. A double-walled drainage pipe is then laid on to a base layer of gravel (herringbone pitch layout shown).

IRRIGATION AND GROUNDWORK

The gravel drainage layers are laid and laser-graded to follow the underlying pitch profile. SIS Aqua irrigation system is then laid, along with the sprinklers positioned in the pitch.

SAND AND UNDERSOIL HEATING

Sand is laid and SIS Heat undersoil heating (cooling in hot climates) pulled through. We irrigate to compact this layer before approximately 100mm of sand is mixed with organic amendments to form the rootzone. Once again, with our pitches, the sand and rootzone layers are laser graded to complement the lower profiles and achieve the most efficient drainage performance and longevity.

SIS HYDROBOX

Our self-developed solution for the ongoing management of sprinkler heads is installed. SIS Hydrobox allows grounds teams to easily remove the surrounding turf and the sprinkler head itself from the field profile, enabling seamless fixing, changing or cleaning of sprinklers without any pitch damage or major repair.

GROWING OR LAYING TURF

We will help you decide on growing your pitch from seed, or using our own turf farms to lay your pitch for quicker establishment. SIS Grass Hybrid can also be stitched into both methods for up to three times more play, quicker recovery and more consistent playing surface.

THE SURFACE IS JUST THE START

Line marking is completed, grass mowed, and artificial surrounds installed for a match ready appearance.

FINISHING TOUCHES

Goal foundations and sockets will be installed, preferably before the grass surface has been laid with corner flag sockets fitted afterwards.

Site Preperation

Our construction team remove the existing surface to a uniform depth and set the foundations for the pitch build. This formation level holds the trenches for the drainage system.

Depending on your budget and location, we can install various drainage solutions to ensure your pitch isn’t susceptible to waterlogging. We can also install SIS Air subsurface aeration system to aid drainage.

Pitch Construction

While all construction projects follow slightly different processes, pitches typically consist of a gravel layer around 100/150mm between the sand and drainage system, a 200 mm sand layer (Lower root zone) over gravel, and an upper root zone layer of a 100mm mix of sand and organic matter.

Where required, our team can provide and apply seed to the playing surface ready for the grow in phase.

Once the construction is complete, we install high-quality natural turf using specialist equipment. SIS Pitches has multiple turf farms across Europe and the Middle East, plus partnerships with trusted farmers, ensuring the highest-quality grass for our clients.

We can install premium grass directly from our own turf farms. We have three turf farms where our teams care for and grow high quality sports grass for quick response to local customers in countries such as Turkey, UAE and Saudi Arabia.

We even set a World Record when returfing a football pitch at Qatar’s Khalifa International Stadium. Installing 7,885m2 of turf in just 13.5 hours!
